Gyeongnam Creative Economy Innovation Center, continuous operation of startup methodology practice workshop courses

2022.06.21

“The Gyeongnam Creative Economy Innovation Center (Director Lee Dong-hyeong) regularly operates the CORN (Customer Oriented Innovation Startup Methodology) project, a practical start-up training course, to help prospective entrepreneurs successfully start their own business.

The Cone Project is conducted in the form of an 8-hour startup methodology hands-on workshop, and participation is possible offline (Gyeongnam Creative Economy Innovation Center) and online (Cone Project website).

“After the start-up team sets the target customer, they learn the methodology to find the customer’s real problem and create the solution the customer wants.”

“The Con Project is carried out in a 1:1 match between a consultant who explains the methodology and a mentor who mentors from a commercialization perspective.

Through this learning process, start-up teams can save time and budget in the process of preparing for start-ups and reduce start-up failure rates.

According to the survey, the number one reason why startups fail is ‘creating a product that customers do not want (42%).’

Therefore, Con Project was designed to perform three steps to create the products and services that customers want while verifying whether it is a truly necessary item from the customer’s perspective.”

In the CORN1 (customer development) stage, we define customer problems to verify ideas, collect ideas, develop solutions, and conduct customer response surveys. In the CORN2 (product development) stage, we perform customer value proposals, lean canvas design, and project planning to verify commercialization. We conduct practice to establish and produce MVP (minimum viable product).

In the CORN3 (business development) stage, the start-up team’s capabilities to attract investment are strengthened through business model design for commercialization verification, business plan writing for investment, and presentation skills practice.

A total of 846 startup teams participated in the Con Project, which started in August 2020, until last year.

Among the start-up teams that strengthened their investment capabilities through participation in the CORN3 process, four companies, including Able Soft Co., Ltd., A$AP, AG Robotics, and Goi, took a leap forward by successfully attracting the investment necessary for the growth of the start-up team, and participated in the CORN1·2 process. Five companies, including Snack 365, Team SH, Hexcon, Kobang, and We Duo, who reorganized their business plans, were selected for government support projects and achieved the result of receiving various supports necessary for commercialization.

In addition, BioVision Care achieved the feat of winning an award in a competition.”

“The Cone Project, which started at the Gyeongnam Creative Economy Innovation Center, received interest not only from local start-up teams, but also from creative economy innovation centers in other regions, universities, and related organizations, and the ‘Visiting Cone Project’ was conducted as an external expansion program, with a total of 114 people from 13 organizations participating. did.

The ‘Youth Entrepreneurship Spreading Program’ targeting local youth is also being conducted by visiting middle and high schools.

It is attracting attention as a practical program that allows students to learn problem-solving methodologies and learn entrepreneurship through the process of finding inconvenient problems in their lives and solving them on their own. “

In addition, a variety of customized support was provided to the startup teams that participated last year, including support for accelerating commercialization (13 teams), support for keyword advertising on portal sites (50 teams), and support for entry into ‘Con Shop’ where products can be sold online and support for targeted advertising (17 teams). This year, it is also being operated on a regular basis as the representative start-up methodology education of the Gyeongnam Creative Economy Innovation Center.
