"Korea Institute of Energy Research (KIER) and Changwon Free Economic Zone Authority held a 'Demo Day' for participating companies in the Gangso Research and Development Special Zone.”

“On the 13th, Korea Institute of Energy Research (KIER) (represented by Acting Director Kim Nam-gyun) and Changwon Free Economic Zone Authority held the ‘2022 KERITOR Short Demo Day’ for companies participating in the Changwon Gangso Research and Development Special Zone InnoPolis Campus project to promote technological entrepreneurship and foster regional innovation ecosystems,” announced on the 14th.

KERITOR stands for a synthesis of KERI (Korea Institute of Energy Research) and Accelerator, referring to companies participating in projects related to the Gangso Special Zone.“

“The event was organized to facilitate investment connections between promising startup companies with excellent technological entrepreneurship ideas and venture capital firms, as well as to enhance the IR capabilities of the KERITOR 3rd cohort companies. Four outstanding companies, selected through rigorous evaluation, are scheduled to participate in the ‘Gyeongsangnam-do 1st Gangso Research and Development Special Zone Startup Innovation IR Day,’ jointly organized by three Gangso Special Zones in Gyeongsangnam-do (Changwon, Gimhae, Jinju).

At the KERITOR Short Demo Day, six companies participating in the Changwon Gangso Special Zone project, including Eden Lux Co., Ltd., iFlow Co., Ltd., Mobahweel Co., Ltd., TwinWiz Co., Ltd., AG Robotics Co., Ltd., and DSEV Co., Ltd., presented their distinctive businesses and innovative ideas, attracting considerable attention. Following the presentations, local specialized investment institutions such as Gyeongnam Venture Investment, Wi and Archer, and InLight Ventures evaluated the participating companies based on innovation, market potential, and growth prospects.

After the IR pitching sessions, there were networking opportunities provided for free interaction between investment institutions and participating companies, offering one-on-one investment consultation sessions to enhance the IR capabilities of prospective and early-stage entrepreneurs and facilitate close-knit accelerating programs.

Ryu Hyo-jong, Director of the Smart Innovation Industry Division, expressed, “We will activate the Changwon Gangso Research and Development Special Zone project to ensure the successful establishment of the Changwon startup ecosystem.” Additionally, Kim Jong-wook, Director of the Strategic Policy Division at the Korea Institute of Energy Research, stated, “We will actively support outstanding startup companies in sharing diverse investment acquisition experiences and establishing new investment networks.“
